Gamebryo 2.6 Integration
Using Beast with Gamebryo
The Gamebryo integration has been developed by Emergent with support from Illuminate Labs' engineers. Using the global illumination package available in Gamebryo allows you to use Beast directly without the need to write your own integration.
Using Beast with Gamebryo will allow you to:
- Get full global illumination light maps generated with Beast.
- Add light baking functionality to Scene Designer with GSA file support.
- Get tools and runtime support for light maps in Gamebryo applications (available in the global illumination package).
Full source code for the integration is available, allowing for customization to suit your particular needs.
Advantages of Beast light maps
- Full global illumination
- Materials interact with the lighting - emissive materials act as light sources, color bleeding from diffuse objects, transparency effects etcetera
- Soft shadows - realistic shadow edges from light sources
- Use HDR environments to create realistic lighting
- Highly customizable light map generation allows you to get the effect you want
