Beast Features
What do you get from Beast?
- Baking textures, vertices and point clouds with advanced global illumination
Use Beast to create light maps and point clouds to use with your game engine. Beast automatically calculates lighting using state of the art global illumination techniques.

Realistic shadow details is achieved by the way that light interacts with the scene. Color bleeding where light bounces off other objects. Soft shadows from point lights, directional lights and area lights.

Image based lighting creates natural looking lighting without adding a single light source. Emissive materials automatically add to the lighting for the scene. Transparent objects affect the light that passes through them. - Dynamic relighting of objects and characters
Using Beast's point cloud baking feature you can generate light probes that can be used to dynamically relight moving objects depending on where they are in the scene. - Ambient Occlusion baking
Bake ambient occlusion with Beast to add shadow details. - Radiosity normal map baking (Directional light maps)
It is easy to set up Beast to render directional light maps for use with your game engine. - Surface transfers
Beast is able to transfer the lighting information from a high poly object onto a low-poly mesh. This is perfect for LOD's and for creating normal maps. - UV-atlas packing
Beast can automatically build UV-atlases for you. Many small shapes can be tightly packed into one big texture. - Custom LUA scripts
You can supply a custom LUA script to be used when rendering to create any special effect that you want. - Camera renders
Beast is able to display a camera render to allow you to view the final look of your scene. - Easy integration
An easy-to-use API is available to allow for a tight integration with a game editor. Using the API you export geometry, materials and job descriptions which is then used by Beast.
An Unreal Engine integration and a Gamebryo integration are available and Beast has been successfully integrated with several in-house game engines. An Integrator's Kit is supplied with Beast to help you with your integration to custom game engines and our support will help you with any questions or issues you encounter.
- Performance
Baking with global illumination is a calculation-intensive task, which is why we care so much about performance. Beast makes the most of multi-core machines and it is also possible to distribute the work across several computers using distribution providers such as Incredibuild. - Upgrades and Support
You get full support for the entire length of the project, where you have access to the actual developers of our products directly. We will help you as much as we can with any issues or questions that you may have.
All new versions and updates are made available to you during the project and so you can choose whether to upgrade or not.
